Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet is taking the series in a very different direction. Instead of expanding the competitive PvP battles of the original game, the sequel moves into open-world exploration, dungeons, boss fights and cooperative play.
The first Ninjala had fast combat, colourful visuals and unusual Ninja-Gum weapons. However, its focus on online arena matches made it difficult to stand apart from other free-to-play multiplayer games. Ninjala 2 appears to use those same ideas as the foundation for a larger adventure.
Exploration and Movement Take the Lead
Players will explore an unknown planet filled with natural areas, ruins and dangerous creatures. Gum Boost and Gum Balloon return, while the new Gum Hook allows characters to pull themselves toward distant locations.
These abilities could make travelling across the world feel much faster than simply running between objectives. Movement already looks like one of the most promising parts of the game.
Combat Moves Beyond PvP Arenas

Katanas, hammers and other Ninja-Gum weapons return alongside Shinobi abilities and quick aerial movement. This time, players will face dungeon enemies and much larger bosses instead of focusing mainly on other players.
The wider battlefields could give the combat system more room to grow. However, enemy variety and weapon progression will be important if the game wants to remain enjoyable throughout the full campaign.
Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet supports solo play as well as local wireless and online co-op for up to four players. Groups will be able to explore the planet, clear dungeons and fight bosses together.
Several details remain unclear, including shared progression, difficulty scaling and whether one console will support split-screen play.
The Open World Still Needs to Prove Itself

The environments shown so far look colourful and spacious, but a large map alone will not be enough. The game will need varied missions, worthwhile discoveries and optional activities that make exploration feel rewarding.
The story is also planned as the first part of a two-chapter saga. The second chapter has not yet been detailed, so the first game will need to deliver a satisfying conclusion of its own.
Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet already looks more ambitious than a standard sequel. It keeps the fast movement and playful weapons of the original while moving away from its PvP-first structure.
The game is currently planned for Nintendo Switch 2 in spring 2027. It is still too early to judge the complete experience, but this new direction could be exactly what the series needs.
