Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. The new version brings Henry’s latest adventure to Nintendo’s system with all major expansions and several platform-specific features.
Deep Silver and Warhorse Studios announced the release alongside a new trailer. Instead of launching with only the base game, the Switch 2 version will arrive as the Royal Edition from day one.
The Royal Edition Includes the Full Package
The Switch 2 release includes the base game and all three premium story expansions: Brushes with Death, Legacy of the Forge and Mysteria Ecclesiae.
It also comes with The Lion’s Crest quest, the Gallant Huntsman’s Kit and Shields of Seasons Passing. That makes it the most complete version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II rather than a stripped-down portable release.
The timing also works well for players who want to experience Henry’s full story on Nintendo hardware. The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance is already available on Nintendo Switch and can also be played on Switch 2 through backward compatibility.
Switch 2 Gets Its Own Technical Features
Warhorse is making several changes specifically for Nintendo Switch 2. The game will support Joy-Con 2 mouse controls and HDR. The interface is also being adjusted for handheld play, with a larger menu layout designed for the smaller screen. The developers have also confirmed additional gameplay bug fixes for this version.
Resolution targets have also been detailed. Handheld mode will use an upscaled 1080p output. Docked play can reach up to 1440p, depending on the connected display. These are upscaled targets, so they should not be confused with confirmed native rendering resolutions.
One major technical detail is still missing. Warhorse has not announced a frame-rate target for the Switch 2 version. For now, it remains unclear whether the game will aim for 30 FPS or include additional performance options.
A Big RPG Test for Switch 2
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a demanding open-world RPG built around large environments, detailed towns, real-time combat and simulation-heavy systems. Bringing that experience to a portable Nintendo system makes this one of the more technically interesting Switch 2 ports currently on the way.
The enlarged interface and mouse support also make sense for a game filled with inventory management, dialogue choices and equipment screens. Those changes suggest that the studio is doing more than simply scaling down the existing console version. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. A specific release date and pricing have not yet been announced.
