Nintendo has announced the Mario Kart World Open August 2026, giving players another chance to compete in a limited-time online event later this month.
The event will begin on August 15 at 2:00 p.m. PT and remain available until August 16 at 6:00 p.m. PT. Players can enter directly through Mario Kart World using the official Event ID, making it easy to join without registering through a separate website.
The August event will use 150cc VS Race rules. Teams and CPU-controlled racers will be disabled, while standard items will remain active. Players can take part in up to 32 races during the event period.
How to Join the Mario Kart World Open August 2026
Players who want to participate can open Online Play in Mario Kart World, press the minus button, and select the Event ID option.

A copy of Mario Kart World, an internet connection, a Nintendo Account and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership are required to participate.
50 Platinum Points for Eligible Players
Nintendo is also offering a small participation reward.
Eligible players in North and South America can receive 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points. The reward is available simply for taking part in the event.
Nintendo expects the points to become available around August 25. Players can claim them through the My Nintendo Missions page.
The reward is not tied to your final position. You do not need to finish near the top of the standings to qualify.
The Mario Kart World Open August 2026 runs across the weekend. Players can join online races and earn a small My Nintendo bonus along the way.
