Pokémon Pokopia has expanded with Bubbly Basin, the first content drop included in the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass. The new area is available now and takes players to a completely new underwater town filled with additional Pokémon, furniture, outfits and activities.
Bubbly Basin introduces several features built specifically around its underwater setting. Players can grow and sample watermelons, make smoothies and visit a new Dream Island by using the Starmie doll.
One of the more useful additions is buoyant blocks. These new building pieces allow structures to float at different heights underwater, opening up more options for players who enjoy designing and expanding their towns.
There is also something less straightforward waiting on the sea floor. Nintendo specifically points to a mysterious hole hidden beneath Bubbly Basin, but stops short of explaining what players will find inside.
How to Access Bubbly Basin
Accessing the new area requires both Pokémon Pokopia and the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass.
Players must first learn Dive, which was added for everyone through the free Version 2.0.0 update. After that, they need to complete the “Raise the environment level!” important request in Bleak Beach and find Popplio in the same area.
Once these requirements are complete, players can head toward Bubbly Basin’s underwater gate and enter the new DLC area.
Expansion Pass Purchase Bonuses
The Expansion Pass also includes a few extra rewards.
Players can obtain a recipe for Ditto print blocks and matching wallpaper by selecting Downloadable Content from the main menu.
Nintendo is also providing Expansion Pass buyers with a code for 30 Rare Pokémetal Ingots. The code is delivered by email and can be redeemed through the Mystery Gifts feature.
The code must be redeemed by August 31, 2027, while the in-game reward must be claimed by September 30, 2027.
Pokémon Pokopia Icon Elements Are Also Available
Nintendo has also launched a limited set of Pokémon Pokopia icon elements for Nintendo Switch Online members.
The icons are being released across four waves throughout August, with the final wave ending on September 2.
Bubbly Basin is only the first of three planned content drops included with the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass. Nintendo says more information about Parts 2 and 3 will be shared later.
