MAGES. has revealed Seeker Eye, a new occult suspense adventure coming to Nintendo Switch. The project brings together several developers known for the Science Adventure series, including staff who previously worked on STEINS;GATE, STEINS;GATE 0 and CHAOS;CHILD.
This time, however, the team is moving away from science fiction. Seeker Eye focuses on supernatural events that cannot be explained through logic or science, giving the project a noticeably different direction from MAGES.’ better-known visual novels.
A Ghost Story That Pulls the Player In
The story begins with The House with the Red Roof, a ghost story shared by MAGES. on YouTube since 2024.
Seeker Eye uses that story as the starting point for something much stranger. According to the early description, people who experience the tale become affected by a supernatural presence.
The concept may also extend beyond the characters. The game suggests that the player could become part of the mystery as well.
This fourth-wall idea is one of the project’s most interesting features so far. However, MAGES. has not explained how it will work in gameplay. For now, it is too early to know how far the concept will go.
Familiar Names Behind a Very Different Story
The development team includes several familiar names for Science Adventure fans.
Fumihiro Kitahara, who worked as an art director on the Science Adventure series, is handling the original concept. Ryo Yasumoto, whose credits include STEINS;GATE 0 and CHAOS;CHILD, is writing the scenario. Takeshi Abo is composing the music, while Tatsuya Matsubara and Naotaka Hayashi are supervising the project.
That lineup gives Seeker Eye an obvious connection to STEINS;GATE, but MAGES. is presenting it as a completely new original adventure rather than another entry in the Science Adventure series.
Seeker Eye Is Coming to Nintendo Switch
Seeker Eye is currently planned for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. MAGES. has only confirmed a Japanese release window for this winter, while pricing has not yet been announced. A western release or English localization has also not been confirmed.
For now, most of the game remains under wraps. MAGES. has released a teaser site and teaser trailer, but details about its gameplay systems and wider story are still limited.
Even at this early stage, though, Seeker Eye is an interesting one to watch. Seeing creators associated with STEINS;GATE move from science-driven mysteries into full supernatural horror gives the project a distinct identity, especially for Nintendo Switch players who enjoy darker visual novels.
