Capcom has released free Onimusha: Way of the Sword Monster Hunter Rise DLC for Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms. The new crossover content adds two costumes inspired by characters from Monster Hunter Rise.
Shizuka Gozen receives the Wisdom of the Sun costume, which is based on Hinoa. Meanwhile, Izumo no Okuni gets the Dance of Mugwort outfit inspired by Yomogi.
Both costumes are cosmetic. Therefore, they do not change character stats, weapons or combat abilities. Players can equip the new outfits through the Demon Mirror after unlocking the game’s appearance options.
The Collaboration Also Includes a Manga Series
The collaboration also includes a short manga series. The first three-part story follows Hinoa and Yomogi as they travel to the Kyoto setting of Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
A second manga story begins on September 8. This time, Shizuka and Okuni head in the opposite direction and visit Kamura Village from Monster Hunter Rise.
The timing is also interesting. Onimusha: Way of the Sword launched on September 4, while the free crossover costumes arrived only three days later.
The Onimusha: Way of the Sword Monster Hunter Rise DLC is available as a free addition. Onimusha: Way of the Sword is available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
